Doubles Ladder Tournament

2011 Tournament:

The final match between #1 seeds Daniel Aguilar/Robert Perez and the #2 seeds Genie Schnakenberg/Todd Spencer took place on Sunday September 4th at 9:00 A.M. The number one seeds Aguilar and Perez beat Schnakenberg and Spencer 6-1, 6-4.

2010 Tournament:

The fourth annual GWTC doubles tournament was held during the month of December 2010, and because of all of the rain even went into the beginning of January, 2011. Sixteen enthusiastic teams entered the tournament and when the dust had finally settled the #1 seeded team of Daniel Aguilar and Robert Perez and the #2 seeds Todd Spencer and Hugh Allen were left standing. The final match was played on Sunday, January 9th at 9:00 A.M. at Palm Park. We were treated to an exhilarating match. Terrific shotmaking and even dives onto the court were featured. Daniel and Robert are club champions for the second year in a row prevailing in a hard fought match 6-3, 7-5.

The 5th annual tournament will be played in August 2011 so that the singles event can be played in December in less heat.

2009 Tournament:

The third annual GWTC double's tournament was held during the month of December with the final match actually played on January 2, 2010.  Sixteen teams were entered in the tournament and when the dust had cleared there were only two left.
The final match was played between the teams of Dawit Alemu/Ernie Maldonado and Daniel Aguilar/Robert Perez.  It was an extremely exciting and competitive match.  It lasted over 2 hours and the final score was 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.  The team of  Daniel Aguilar and Robert Perez are the club double's champions for 2009.  Congratulations also to Dawit Alemu and Ernie Maldonado as our finalists.

Many thanks to all of the teams that entered, played hard, and were so very flexible and cooperative in order to help make the event the success that it was.  Watch for our 4th tournament next December.

2008 Tournament

The final match took place on Saturday, January 3. at the Palm Park tennis court between Genie Schnakenberg/Todd Spencer and Jesus "Polo" Chavez/Robert Perez.

Genie and Todd were the winners. Congrats Genie and Todd, and congratulations to Polo and Robert, too.

 2007 Tournament

The First Double's Tournament

 The first annual GWTC double's ladder tournament was played during the month of December 2007. The number 1 and 2 seeds made it through the draw and faced each other in the final on December 30. Todd Spencer and Dawit Alemu (1) played Daniel Aguilar and Robert Perez (2). Daniel and Robert played well, but were unable to get close to the number 1 seed. Dawit and Todd played excellently, and won the final match.
